1. About Permanent Jewellery

What is Permanent Jewellery?

A custom-fitted bracelet, anklet, or necklace that is welded directly onto you without a clasp.

What are your prices?
How long does permanent jewellery last?

With proper care, permanent jewellery can last 5–20 years or more. Longevity depends on daily wear and the metal chosen.

Does it hurt?

No. The process is painless and safe. We use minimal heat that only affects the jewellery, with protective leather patches and safety goggles provided.

Why do people get Permanent Jewellery?
  • Customised pieces that tell your story
  • Make a style statement
  • Commemorate special events
  • Show bonds with loved ones
  • More comfortable than traditional jewellery styles
  • No need to take it on and off daily
Is permanent jewellery safe?

Permanent jewellery is safe for everyday wear. Avoid wearing it around heavy machinery or during high-risk activities where jewellery could get caught.

Will it set off metal detectors?

No. Permanent jewellery is very fine and lightweight and does not set off metal detectors.

Can it be removed?

Yes. Use a pair of nail clippers or pliers to cut the link where it was welded.

2. Wear, Care & Longevity

Will it break?

Our chains are made of high-quality materials designed to resist everyday wear and tear. Permanent jewellery is not indestructible — any piece can be damaged by opposing force. If your piece breaks, we'll do our best to repair it for you.

What happens if my bracelet breaks?

We'll organise a free re-weld for you. While our bracelets are designed for permanent wear, breakages can happen due to everyday wear or human error. Just contact us and we'll talk you through the next steps.

Are some chains more durable than others? What’s the difference?

Yes, some chains are stronger than others depending on their design. Chains with thicker individual links contain more metal, which generally makes them more robust. Because there is more metal used, these styles are also more expensive. All of our chains are durable with good care, however we’ve found that some daintier designs, such as Singapore and Hearts, can stretch if they’re pulled or caught.

Can I wear it in the shower, ocean, pool, or hot tub?

Yes — permanent jewellery can be worn in the shower and ocean.

Avoid chemically treated pools, hot tubs, and natural sulphur pools as chemicals and minerals can cause tarnishing.

What happens if my piece gets tarnished?

Avoid chemically treated or sulphur-rich water to minimise tarnishing.

We're happy to offer general care advice, but tarnishing caused by environmental exposure is not covered by replacements or refunds.

Follow cleaning advice.

How do I clean my permanent jewellery?

Light Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Use a silver polishing cloth (we recommend a Sunshine Cloth)
  • Gently polish the chain while it is on your wrist or ankle
  • Avoid excessive pressure to prevent stretching the links

Heavier Tarnish

  • Use a small amount of silver polish (such as Silvo) on a soft cloth or soft bristled toothbrush
  • Only use this product while wearing rubber dishwashing gloves to protect your skin
  • Avoid getting silver polish directly on your skin
  • Gently polish only the jewellery, not the surrounding skin
  • Rinse the area completely with warm water and mild soap afterwards and pat dry

*Silver polish contains strong chemicals and should always be used with care*

Important Safety Notes

  • Do not use silver polish directly on bare skin
  • Always wear gloves when using chemical cleaning products
  • Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and broken skin
  • Follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions carefully

The wearer is responsible for the safe use of all cleaning products.

Professional Cleaning

If tarnish cannot be removed with gentle cleaning, we recommend visiting a professional jeweller for specialist cleaning. Then it can be re-welded at one of our next pop-ups.

Disclaimer

Cleaning and maintenance of permanent jewellery is the responsibility of the wearer. We are not responsible for damage caused by cleaning products, chemicals, misuse, or improper handling.

When should I avoid wearing permanent jewellery?
  • Pools
  • Hot tubs
  • Harsh chemicals
  • Heavy manual labour
  • Using hair removal products
Can I wear my permanent jewellery while exercising or lifting weights?

Yes, permanent jewellery can be worn during light to moderate exercise. For added protection, tape over it or wear a sweatband. Avoid heavy lifting or high-impact activities where the jewellery could be pulled or caught, as this may cause stretching or breakage.

How do I protect my permanent jewellery when using chemicals or doing physical work?

You can place a temporary barrier between the jewellery and your skin using:

• Rubber dishwashing gloves
• Nitrile or latex disposable gloves
• Medical or micropore tape
• Fabric sports tape
• Cohesive wrap or self adhesive bandage

This helps prevent direct contact with chemicals, friction, or catching on equipment.

Can I use tape or gloves to protect my jewellery?

Yes, and we strongly recommend this in certain situations.

• Wear gloves when cleaning or using chemical products
• Tape gently over the jewellery before applying hair removal creams or doing physical work
• Remove tape as soon as possible after use

Is damage from chemicals or products covered?

No. Damage caused by chemicals, hair removal creams, cleaning products, pools, hot pools, natural springs, or misuse is not considered a fault and is not covered.

The wearer is responsible for protecting and caring for their jewellery.

Is permanent jewellery indestructible?

Permanent jewellery is designed for everyday wear, but like all jewellery, it isn't indestructible. Breakages can happen due to daily wear, impact, or human error.

3. Materials & Allergies

What metals do you use?
  • Sterling silver (including 100% recycled sterling silver)
  • 14k gold filled
  • 9k solid gold
Is your jewellery hypoallergenic?

We don't guarantee our jewellery is hypoallergenic. We use high-quality metals including sterling silver, 14k gold filled, and 9k solid gold. Sensitivities vary from person to person.

Will my jewellery ever tarnish or discolour?

With normal daily wear, it won't turn green or tarnish , but may gradually lose some shine over time. Gold filled pieces may soften in colour after a few months of wear.

Exposure to hot tubs, swimming pools, or natural springs can cause tarnishing due to chemicals and minerals in the water.

What’s the difference between gold filled, and gold plated?

Gold filled: A thick layer of gold mechanically bonded to a base metal (at least 5% gold by weight). The gold is permanently fused using heat and pressure, making it durable and long-lasting.

Gold plated: A very thin layer of gold applied through electroplating. It can wear off more quickly and expose the base metal underneath.

What base metal is used in gold filled jewellery?

Gold filled jewellery is typically bonded to a brass base metal, which provides strength and durability.

What’s the difference between gold filled, and 9k solid gold?

Gold filled: A thick layer of solid gold bonded to a base metal.

9k solid gold: Gold alloy throughout the piece. Contains other metals for strength, but the gold runs throughout and won't wear through over time.

Whats the difference between sterling silver and 100% recycled sterling silver?

There is no difference in durability or quality. Both are 92.5% pure silver and perform the same in terms of strength, wear, and longevity. The difference is in sourcing — recycled sterling silver is made from reclaimed silver, making it a more sustainable option.

What carrat gold do you use?

We use 9k solid gold. Custom orders in higher carat gold are available on request — please get in touch to discuss.

4. Appointments & Booking

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are encouraged, although we do take walk-ins. Check availability on our booking page.

How long does an appointment take?

Generally around 15 minutes per person. More complicated designs with additional charms will take longer, and we'll allocate extra time accordingly.

How many charms can I add?

Each standard 15-minute appointment includes up to 3 charms. For more than 3 charms (up to 7 per piece), contact us before your appointment so we can allow extra time.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

We do not weld children under the age of 12.

Can I book for multiple people?

Yes — you can book for multiple people.

What if I’m running late?

Please let us know if you're running late. During pop-ups we're often with clients back-to-back and may not be able to respond immediately. Arriving late may shorten your appointment or affect our ability to proceed.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment incur a $25 fee per person. No-shows incur a $50 fee per person. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Why do you require card details to secure an appointment?

We require card details to secure your booking and help prevent no-shows. Your details are safely handled through our secure booking system and will only be charged in line with our cancellation and no-show policy.

Do you have afterpay?

No, we do not have afterpay

Are there any additional costs, such as a welding fee?

No — there are no welding or service fees. The price you see covers the chain, custom fitting, and welding. Additional costs only apply if you choose to add a charm or upgrade your bracelet to an anklet or necklace.

5. Customisations & Repairs

What if my bracelet no longer fits?

Some chains can stretch over time due to tugging or wear. We're happy to resize your bracelet free of charge where possible.

What if I lose my bracelet?

If your bracelet is lost, we're unable to replace it. Once a piece is lost, it is the responsibility of the wearer.

Do you offer refunds or replacements?

Permanent jewellery is custom fitted and welded, so we don't offer refunds or replacements for change of mind, wear, or environmental exposure. If there's an issue related to the weld itself, we're happy to help in line with our re-weld policy.
